Man’s body taken from river in Sligo

Gardai have recovered a man’s body from the Garavogue River near Sligo town.

The dead man, believed to be in his 50s, was on a small rowing boat which capsized near Quay Street at around 5.30pm today.

His body was recovered just before 7.30pm.

Gardai are withholding his name until all next of kin are informed.
