Gardaí in Dublin have launched a murder inquiry after a Chinese man was stabbed to death outside a pub in the city.

Gardaí in Dublin have launched a murder inquiry after a Chinese man was stabbed to death outside a pub in the city.

Two men have been arrested in connection with the fracas, which left two other men injured.

It is understood the row broke out between a group of Chinese men outside a pub in O'Connell St in the city centre at around 1.30am.

It is believed those involved had been drinking in a pub and the argument spilled onto the street.

During the confrontation, a knife was produced and a man was stabbed in the throat.

He later died from his injuries. Two men were arrested at the scene and are being held at Store St Garda Station under Section Four of the Criminal Justice Act.

The scene has been preserved for technical examination and a post mortem is to be carried out.
