A child has been killed and two others injured in a farm accident in the North.

A six-year-old girl died and a boy and girl, both aged four, were injured when a wall on the farm at Quarry Road in Knockloughrim, Co Derry collapsed last night.

The two injured children are in a satisfactory condition in hospital.

A police spokesman said: ‘‘It is understood a wall collapsed on the children and police are investigating it on behalf of the coroner.’’

It is thought farm machinery was being used near the wall at the time of the accident.
