400 jobs go as Flextronics closes in Limerick

The Limerick electronics company Flextronics is to close with the loss of 400 manufacturing jobs.

The company is blaming continuing weakness in the global electronic sector for the closure.

From September, all manufacturing at the company will carried out its Cork plant.

It is hoped 50 jobs at the Limerick plant can be retained.
