Three men appear on firearms charges
Three men arrested after Special Branch detectives raided a house in Tallaght on Thursday appeared at a special sitting of the Special Criminal Court today on firearms charges.
Special Branch detectives who swooped on the house at Moynihan Court recovered shotguns and ammunition.
Philip Smith (35), of Moynihan Court, Tallaght, William Jordan (33), also of Moynihan Court and Stephen O’ Shaughnessy (22) of Main St, Tallaght were each charged with the unlawful possession of three shotguns and twelve shotgun cartridges at Moynihan Court on July 4.
Detective Garda Marilyn Brosnan, of the Special Detective Unit, gave evidence of arresting Smith on Thursday morning at Moynihan Court.
Detective Garda Sean Pender, of the SDU gave evidence of arresting Jordan and Detective Sergeant Ciaran Daly, also of the SDU, gave evidence of arresting O’Shaughnessy on Thursday morning.
The three men were remanded in custody until July 16 when bail applications are expected to be heard.
