Sinn Fein today announced portfolios for its five members in the Irish Republic’s Parliament following its recent gains at the general election.

The party pledged to work as a ‘‘constructive opposition’’ and called for changes to Parliamentary rules which prevent groups of fewer than seven members securing certain rights and entitlements.
