€420m investment package announced for North

A €90m regional cancer centre has received funding under a new investment package for the North.

The Stormont Executive unveiled the €420m (£270m) investment package today.

The funding is a result of the Reinvestment and Reform Initiative announced by the British government in May.

The package will fund 29 infrastructure projects in the next two years.

The North’s Deputy First Minister, Mark Durkan, said the projects in question were identified as priorities in the Executive’s programme for government.
