Transport Minister Seamus Brennan has reportedly made progress in talks with the Gardai this afternoon on the introduction of the penalty points system.

The Government has said it hopes the system will be operational by September, but the Gardai had previously indicated that it could take 12 months to have the necessary computer equipment ready.
