Third man dies in weekend traffic accidents

A man has died in a road traffic accident in Co Westmeath.

The accident happened at 5.30am today on the Ballinasloe road in Athlone.

The driver of the vehicle died at the scene and his body was removed to hospital.

This brings to three the amount of people killed in road accidents over the weekend. None of the names of the road victims have been released yet.
