Taoiseach issues warning on Nice

The Taoiseach, Bertie Ahern, has warned that if the Nice Treaty is not passed in a referendum by the Irish people in the autumn, Ireland will lose out.

On the final day of the EU Summit in Seville, Mr Ahern said that the current prosperity in Ireland is due to our membership of the European Union and that it is time to recognise that in the upcoming referendum.
