The police service in the North has launched an investigation into reports that shots were fired following a loyalist parade in a flash point area in Belfast earlier today.

Nationalist sources are claiming that loyalist gunmen fired upon their homes in the North Queen Street area in north Belfast.

They say that the attackers came from the neighbouring Tiger’s Bay area soon after the march took place.

This is the latest in a series of incidents following overnight trouble in the Duncairn Gardens area during which a police officer received minor leg injuries.
