FG to join Forum on Europe today

Fine Gael leader Enda Kenny will lead a party delegation into the Forum on Europe this morning after changing his party’s policy on participating in the scheme.

Mr Kenny’s predecessor, Michael Noonan, had decided to boycott the forum last year after describing it as a "talking shop".

The Forum on Europe was established after 54% of Irish voters rejected the Nice Treaty in a referendum last June. Its stated aim was to debate the issues that led to the ‘no’ vote.
