Taoiseach backs Park homecoming party

The Taoiseach has given his backing to the decision to hold the World Cup homecoming party in the Phoenix Park.

Bertie Ahern said that while the atmosphere might be better at a city centre party, the crowds expected would just make it too dangerous.

Preparations are underway in Dublin for the staging of the party, with gardai putting security measures in place in the park.
