Reid rejects criticisms on violence
Northern Ireland Secretary Dr John Reid is rejecting statements claiming that his administration is ignoring the spiralling levels of violence in the North.
Speaking during a visit to the Shankill Road, Dr Reid said that Northern Ireland had come a long way, and had further still to go.
He said that people should not lose sight of the accomplishments of the last few years, but that a "halfway house" between terrorism and politics will not be tolerated.
