Clergy continue with second day of talks
Senior ranking members of the clergy are beginning their second day of intense discussions at Maynooth College in Kildare.
The talks are reported to be covering a range of issues, chief among them the internal audit of clerical abuse.
Survivors of Child Abuse member John Kelly, says that the Catholic Church need to drastically change their handling of these types of problems, from a management standpoint to a confrontational one.
Mr Kelly is also suggesting that any committee or panel that is established as a result of these talks should be both independent and transparent. Mr Kelly is also insistent that the panel’s workings and findings remain public, and that abusers are brought to justice.
