Report highlights plight of prisoners' children

A report on how children react when their parents are jailed has recommended the introduction of a code of practice to support the families of prison inmates.

The report by the Centre for Social and Educational Research expressed concern about the level of child poverty among the children of prisoners and the stigma attached to having a parent imprisoned.
