Greens to meet after electoral victory
The Green Party’s TDs and MEPs are due to meet later this morning to discuss their strategy for the 29th Dail.
The Greens trebled their Dail showing from two to six seats, but one of their main worries is that they could lose out on speaking time, priority questions and private members motions if the Dail standing orders remain unchanged.
The party is also expected to discuss its options if approached by Fianna Fail for talks on forming a coalition Government, but it knows that the Progressive Democrats or an alliance of like-minded independents are Bertie Ahern’s favoured partners.
