Exiled Palestinians to arrive in Ireland today
Two of the 13 Palestinian militants exiled following the siege at the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem are due to arrive in Ireland later today.
The Government agreed to take in two of the militants under an agreement brokered by the European Union to end the siege earlier this month.
The men, whom Israel describes as “dangerous terrorists”, have reportedly been granted Irish residency for one year, after which they can apply for asylum.
While in Ireland, the pair will be monitored by the authorities and will not be allowed to leave the country.
