Noonan to resign in wake of poor results
Micheal Noonan has announced his intention to resign as leader of Fine Gael.
The Limerick East TD described the election to date as a 'seriously bad result for Fine Gael'.
He accepted full responsibility for Fine Gael's performance.
He said: "When you are the leader of a party, you have to accept the results of that."
He added: "I don't think I'm tenable as leader of the party after this result."
