Michael Moynihan wins Cork NW seat

Fianna Fail's Michael Moynihan has won the first seat in the three-seat Cork North West constituency.

Fianna Fail's Michael Moynihan has won the first seat in the three-seat Cork North West constituency.

Moynihan easily beat the quota of 9,705 with 10,540 votes. Meanwhile, Moynihan's running partner Donal Moynihan was next strongest with 8,893 votes.

Fine Gael's Gerard Murphy received 8,548 votes while outgoing Fine Gael TD Michael Creed won 7,787 on the first count.

Labour's Martin Coughlan was next strongest with 2,668 votes.
