Turnout reported at around 10-15% so far

Polling stations throughout Ireland are reporting an average turnout so far of around 10% to 15%, despite heavy rain throughout the country.

In Galway, around 10% have voted in rural areas and there were even queues in some areas then polling opened at 7.30am.
