Gardai investigate Dublin pub fire

Gardai are investigating a fire in south Dublin overnight.

The former Canal Bar on Grand Canal Place went on fire shortly after 1am.

The premises, which had not been used for a while, was destroyed in the blaze.

It is reported that five units from the Dublin Fire Brigade dealt with the fire.

Commuters this morning should expect some this disruption on their way to work as one fire brigade has stayed because the property is still smouldering.

Gardai are now preserving the scene for technical investigation.
