Ireland to take in one exiled militant
Ireland has agreed to admit one of the 13 Palestinian militants deported from the West Bank following the recent siege at the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem.
The 13 militants are currently in Cyprus awaiting the outcome of an EU meeting to discuss their future.
Six nations - Ireland, Italy, Spain, Greece, Portugal and Belgium have reportedly agreed to admit the men, but the full details of the agreement are still being negotiated.
The EU said the six countries have voluntarily agreed to take in the militants, but officials are still working on an arrangement whereby the 13 men will receive the same treatment no matter where they end up.
