The Society of St Vincent de Paul has urged both politicians and voters to stop talking about the economy and focus on the real problems facing ordinary Irish citizens.

The Society of St Vincent de Paul has urged both politicians and voters to stop talking about the economy and focus on the real problems facing ordinary Irish citizens.

The Society says particular interest must be paid to helping the underprivileged.

Spokesman John Monaghan said: “What we’re very concerned about is the fact that the election has been dominated to a large extent by economics, yet issues surrounding how people live, and particularly those we represent, the underprivileged and those on low incomes, their voice is not being heard.”
