High Court to hear challenge on Election expenditure limits

The High Court is to hear a challenge to the general election expenditure limits this Friday.

Fianna Fail candidate, Des Kelly, is taking the case claiming that the current rules discriminate in favour of sitting TD’s and Senators.

Under the legislation parliamentarians can use free Oireachtas postage and Secretarial services during the campaign.

A decision on the case is expected before polling on May 17.
