FF insists garda recruitment plan is practical

Fianna Fail has insisted that its pledge to recruit 2,000 extra gardai over the next five years is practical, despite reports that the Garda Representative Association believes the plan could not be implemented.

Justice Minister John O’Donoghue said: “During the life of the last Government, we recruited 2,700 gardai under an accelerated recruitment procedure.”
