House fire mum, son named

Gardaí have released the names of the mother and son who were killed in house fire in Cork early this morning.

They were 25-year-old Lorraine Sheehan and her three-year-old son, Glenn.

The blaze broke out at their home in Churchfield Gardens on the north side of Cork city shortly after 8.30am.

Gardaí are still at the scene but they do not suspect foul play in the fire.

The father and the family's second child, a two-year-old girl, managed to escape from the house without any serious injuries.
