Brennan plays down Farmleigh fracas

The chief whip for Fianna Fail, Seamas Brennan, has confirmed that a gathering took place in Farmleigh with the Taoiseach and his partner.

However Mr Brennan is playing down today’s accusations that it was a private function. He insists that it was a tour.

Mr Brennan maintains a small amount of people, maybe 30-40, attended the gathering.

They stayed on for refreshments afterwards which included wine and pies. Fianna Fail’s chief whip says that they were only there for an hour or so.
