FF pledge to tackle high insurance costs for young drivers
Fianna Fail is pledging to tackle the issue of exorbitant insurance for young drivers if re-elected.
Environment Minister, Noel Dempsey, says he hopes to implement the Motor Insurance Advisory board’s report before the end of the year.
He admits however that it will probably be two or three years before young drivers enjoy the benefits.
Minister Dempsey says, “I think it will take longer than the end of the year to see these insurance premiums fall. But over the period of the next two or three years the Insurance company will have to respond to this report, they will have to lower their costs or if not the Government will have to take the necessary action to do that.”
