FF and FG battling in marginal Clare constituency

Fianna Fail and Fine Gael are battling it out in Clare ahead of this year's general election.

With the outcome in this month’s general election expected to be decided in marginal constituencies, the battleground in Clare could prove important.

Fianna Fail currently holds three of the four seats in the constituency, with Fine Gael holding the fourth.

Fianna Fail’s Sile de Valera and her colleague, Tony Kileen, look likely to take the first two seats.

That leaves Fianna Fail’s third TD, Brendan Daly, and Fine Gael’s TD, Donal Carey, battling with independent James Breen and Fine Gael Senator Madeleine Taylor Quinn for the remaining two seats.
