Fianna Fail has invited Labour and Fine Gael to a meeting this afternoon to discuss the make-up of an independent panel of economists to examine party manifestos. Labour has accepted but Fine Gael is raising concerns what it considers to be stage management by the main Government party.

Fianna Fail has invited Labour and Fine Gael to a meeting this afternoon to discuss the make-up of an independent panel of economists to examine party manifestos. Labour has accepted but Fine Gael is raising concerns what it considers to be stage management by the main Government party.

Fine Gael is insisting it is happy to take part in any independent financial assessment of the party’s manifestos but they say it wants to make clear that its figures are based on information available to them at the time.
