Fine Gael will appoint Minister for Regional Development
Fine Gael says it will appoint a Minister for Regional Development if returned to power.
Fine Gael leader, Michael Noonan, is canvassing voters in North Connacht today.
Noonan was speaking at the launch of his party’s regional development plan in Co Leitrim. He also made a call for more decentralisation, promising more State offices for the west, and he also called for the speedy introduction of broadband technology into the region to encourage industry.
He also says his party will look seriously at creating a university in the Northwest if Fine Gael gets back into Government. The tour will continue through Boyle in Co Roscommon, Castlebar and Ballina in Co Mayo before continuing on to Sligo later this evening.
