Winter Vomiting bug strikes in Ennis

The Mid Western Health board has confirmed that eight patients and five staff at Ennis General Hospital have contracted the Winter Vomiting Bug.

A spokesperson for the Health Board has said that “as the bug is highly infectious, measures have been taken to restrict the spread of the illness”.

Elective admissions have been cancelled and other admissions restricted.

The Mid-Western Health Board is appealing to the public not to visit relatives in Ennis General Hospital until further notice.
