NIB to gain 200 new recruits

The Justice Minister is increasing the number of Gardai assigned to the National Immigration Bureau by 200.

The decision provides for the recruitment of an additional complement of 200 Garda recruits.

The expansion of the bureau follows increasing concerns that Trans-national crime gangs, involved in the trafficking of illegal immigrants, are targeting Ireland.
