Ulster Unionist leader David Trimble is today due to meet police chiefs in Northern Ireland to discuss police assertions that the IRA was behind the Special Branch break-in in March.

Ulster Unionist leader David Trimble is today due to meet police chiefs in Northern Ireland to discuss police assertions that the IRA was behind the Special Branch break-in in March.

He is also expected to discuss the revelation on Friday that officers investigating the raid uncovered an IRA ‘‘hit list’’ of leading politicians, including prominent members of the Conservative Party.
