A bout of the winter vomiting bug has broken out at Galway’s University Hospital.

A bout of the winter vomiting bug has broken out at Galway’s University Hospital.

Certain units have been closed and restrictions have been put in place in the hospital until further notice.

All surgery was cancelled at the hospital after a number of patients in different wards contracted the bug.

Meanwhile, parents are still on alert in the North after 20 cases of measles were reported in recent weeks.
