Republican hit list "very worrying": SDLP

The discovery of a republican hit list was described as a "very, very worrying development" by nationalist SDLP Assembly member Alban Maginness.

"I would like further information on this but certainly it would seem to be inconsistent with Sinn Fein being a democratic, political party if it is associated with people who are actively pursuing people involved in public life," the North Belfast MLA said.

"It is quite incompatible with being a democratic, political party to have an association with a paramiltary organisation which is doing that sort of thing.

"So a lot of questions are going to have to be asked of Sinn Fein."
