Up to 70 jobs are to be created in the north-east with the news the Central Fisheries Board will move there.

The Government is moving the Board from Glasnevin in Co Dublin to Carrick-on-Shannon in Co Leitrim.

This is a boost for a region which has seen a large loss of jobs in recent years.

The announcement coincided with a €30m angling investment plan to fund river enhancement projects countrywide.
