Haughey accuses Taoiseach of cutting family name

Former Taoiseach Charles Haughey has accused Bertie Ahern of trying to cut the Haughey name out of Dail Eireann.

In a statement to a Sunday Paper, Mr. Haughey objected to what he termed the undermining of Sean Haughey in then run up to the elections.

The Haughey family insisted that Mr. Ahern was in favour of Sean Haughey’s running mate, Councillor Deirdre Heney.

However, the Taoiseach has dismissed these claims stating that Fianna Fail are only attempting to gain the available third seat in Dublin North Central.
