Labour calls for inquiry into Molloy affair
The Labour Party is calling for an independent investigation into the phone-calls-to the-judge fiasco.
Party leader Ruairi Quinn says it could also recommend how issues of this nature should be dealt with by the Department of Justice.
Mr Quinn says if the Government has nothing to hide, there is no reason why it shouldn’t order an immediate investigation.
He said such an investigation would only last days and 'answer many questions that are crying out for answers'.
However, Tanaiste Mary Harney is insisting that the resignation of Bobby Molloy has brought the matter to a close.
