Priests to formulate response to child sex abuse scandals

Representatives of Catholic priests in Ireland are due to meet this afternoon to formulate a united response to the current scandal surrounding the handling of clerical child sex abusers.

Yesterday, the Catholic Bishops held a similar meeting and agreed to establish an independent audit of how church authorities dealt with paedophile priests and accusations of abuse against them.
