Teenager stabbed following sectarian attack
A 17-year-old youth has been stabbed in the head after a gang stopped him and asked what religion he was.
Four youths stopped the teenager as he disembarked from a bus and demanded to know what religion he was before attacking him and chasing after him after he stumbled and fell.
The 17-year-old suffered stab wounds to the head and several other injuries to the rest of his body as a result of the attack which took place at Broughan Street.
Police in the North are treating the attack as sectarian in nature and are searching for the attackers who are reported to have made off in the direction of Tiger’s Bay.
