McDaid announces over €75m in Lottery grants for Sports facilities

The Minister for Sport has announced over €75m in Lottery grants for Sports facilities around the country.

It marks a 35% increase in funding from last year. The money goes to 850 local, regional and national projects.

Minister McDaid said today "a significant number of the projects being funded today are projects that are located in some of the most disadvantaged communities."

McDaid also stated, "it is vitally important that everybody participating in sport at local level is afforded the opportunity to develop and enhance those skills".
