New scheme set up in bid to cut road deaths

The National Safety Council will today launch a new scheme whereby drivers can rest at special areas in Statoil service stations during journeys during the upcoming holiday weekend.

The move is designed to prevent deaths on Ireland’s roads during the Easter holiday weekend.
