Experts to discuss rise in child deaths

Experts in child protection are expected to gather for a conference in Dublin later today.

The meeting comes after figures showed that 20 children died at the hands of adults in the past two years, compared to 10 in the previous decade.

John Nisbet, a spokesman for the CARI foundation, said today’s conference will debate the central issues and formulate a coherent response to the rise in deaths.
