Teahon accepts demotion decision

Paddy Teahon has said he accepts the decision of the cabinet to remove him from office as CEO of Sports Campus Ireland and as chairman of its development wing, Campus Sports Ireland Development.

Assistant secretary at the Department of Tourism, Tom Haugh, is the new interim chair of CSID, while an as yet unnamed official is to be appointed interim chief executive.

Mr Teahon said he agreed to the move in the interests of the project.
