Jacob to meet SDLP over Sellafield

The Minister with responsibility for nuclear energy, Joe Jacob, is to meet young politicians from the North today to discuss the campaign to close Sellafield.

Members of SDLP Youth are to travel to Dublin for talks with the Minister to demonstrate co-operation between North and South in the continuing efforts to have the Cumbrian plant shut down.

Yvonne Byrne, chairperson of the group's campaigns committee, said the peace process has helped the Irish Government's case against Sellafield.
