The motorcyclist who was killed in a crash in Dunboyne, Co Meath last night has been named.

24-year-old Paul Caffery from Finglas in Dublin, lost control of his bike shortly before midnight and it went into a ditch.

He was taken to James Connolly Memorial Hospital where he died a short time later. Two other men were killed in a separate traffic incident overnight.

The men, one in his 20s and the other in his 40s, were killed in a car crash near Castletown on the main Carlow to Wexford road.

The incident happened at about 3.00am when the driver lost control of the car and struck a tree. Two other men travelling in the vehicle were injured and are being treated for minor injuries at St Luke’s Hospital in Kilkenny.
