Dail to examine Stadium Ireland accounts
The Dail’s public accounts committee is to examine the accounts of the firm established to oversee the construction and operation of the controversial Stadium Ireland project in west Dublin.
The move follows revelations that the Government awarded a lucrative contract for the construction of an aquatic centre to a dormant company with assets of just stg£4 (€6.5).
Because of the scandal, the public accounts committee has decided to probe the accounts of Campus and Stadium Ireland Ltd next Thursday.
The Department of Sport, Department of the Taoiseach and Office of Public Works have also been asked to attend the meeting.
