Manseragh surprised by Trimble proposal

The advisor to the Taoiseach on the Northern Ireland peace process has expressed his surprise at today’s announcement by David Trimble to hold a border poll in May.

Dr Martin Manseragh is an advisor to Bertie Ahern on Northern Ireland and he has described Mr Trimble's proposal as ‘quite premature’.
